Biennial Exhibition/ 75 Years of Hat Art Exhibition

 

TWO HAC SHOWS are coming to the ESPLANADE this Fall

Xanthe Isbister announced the exciting news at March 15th Biennial Show Creative Cohort Meeting.

The changes for Artists in the Club are:

  • The Biennial Exhibition of new works on the theme: “our new normal- life during Covid-19” will come into HAC June 1st as originally announced.

  • “75 Years of Hat Art” is becoming its own show.
    The Esplanade will create the exhibition from works of former and current HAC members. This show is set to open November 29th in Heritage Hall of the Esplanade Galleries.

  • Xanthe Isbister will be mentoring a curator or small curatorial team (3 maximum) to: create the inventory of works, communicate with lenders, and undertake the logistics for the exhibit.

Applications for this/these “co-curator” roles require a 1 page submission of your interest and related skills. Ideal skill set for this/these roles are:

  • Administrative Experience (and enjoyment of these tasks)
  • Interest in Curation
  • Proficency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
  • Time Management skills
  • Ability to take direction and feedback

The Esplanade estimates 70 hours by this volunteer or volunteers to complete the project. A team may be created if there is strong interest but not all the skills are present in one individual.
