Hat Art Club COVID-19 Policy

In order to keep our members safe during the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Hat Art Club has had to make some changes to our studio access processes.

All 2021-22 members must agree to the COVID-19 policy at the time of registration.

  • Starting on Monday, September 20, 2021 all members attending in-studio classes or events will be required to comply with the Medicine Hat College’s special COVID-19 declaration. Please read and understand the declaration before booking in-studio classes. If you cannot comply with the statement you will be refused entry to our facilities, which are part of the Medicine Hat College.

  • Members will be required to sign in and out of the studio space with date and time in a logbook

  • Members will be required to wear a mask while working in the studio and respect 2m physical distancing

  • Hand sanitizer shall be used by members upon entering the studio (including after reentering from the washroom or unloading vehicles)

  • Handwashing and sanitization of equipment/supplies will be required after handing public use items/ surfaces

  • All workspaces and equipment are to be disinfected after use by each member at the end of each work session utilizing a two-step sanitation procedure

  • Members must not leave any personal items in the studio space, aprons and smocks must be removed at the end of each session or stored in assigned locker and shelf spaces

  • No more than 12 members will be allowed in the studio space at one time.

  • Members will not to permitted to use the studio if they are feeling unwell, or exhibiting any signs of illness such as a fever, cough or sore throat, running nose, etc. (please see AHS COVID fact sheet for a full list of symptoms)

  • If a member or any of their family members or close acquaintances tests positive for COVID-19 they have a legal obligation to notify the Hat Art Club and Alberta Health Services if they have been using the studio

  • Members testing positive for COVID-19 will not be able to use the studio until they have completed the 14 day quarantine period mandated by the Government of Alberta and have no symptoms

  • Members will read and adhere to Procedures/Guidelines posted on Studio message boards and emailed to all Club members

  • Members must acknowledge that the use of the studio space is at their own risk
